The Vendors (or Keeping it Local)

We don't want to tell you too much about the day, but thought you might be interested to know some of those who'll be helping us celebrate. Our local community is important to us, so we've tried to focus on business close to us and the venue to ease impact and support the local economy.

Caterer: Trumpetvine. From the moment Heather and Jacob tasted their delightful fresh vegetarian fare we were hooked on them for the catering. They are also a local Berkeley owned and operated business focused on fresh, seasonal food. Can't wait to share the meal with you!

Cake: Masse's Yummy cake from an extremely local 'Mom & Pop' shop (literally, it's just a husband and wife team) on Shattuck in Berkeley. For more, check out this recent article in The Monthly.

Photographer: Norbert von der Groeben A long time family friend of Jacob's Dad (Ted) Norbert has watched Jacob grow up. Norbert lives in the south bay and we're so happy to have him photographing the day.

Musicians: Eric & Suzy Thompson Talk about local! I believe they live within walking distance of the venue. They play frequent shows all over the bay area - especially at the Ashkenaz (just around the corner from our house). If you'll be here earlier in the week, they'll be playing Thurs. Sept. 10, along with Alice Gerrard and the Tallboys String Band at the new downtown Freight (across from Berkeley Rep) For taste of their music, please give this a listen: When I get home
