Q & A

Is anybody changing their name?

At this point no. For now, Heather will remain a Vaughan and Jacob will remain a Fink. We are both feminists, some might say that Jacob is more of a feminist than Heather. We are both into the equality and independence that has always been a part of our relationship. That said, we've been toying with the idea of both of us changing our names to some amalgamation like Faughan, Vink, Vauink or Fighan? Who knows! We've got our whole lives to hash that out.

What if it rains?

September in California affords some of the nicest weather around and rain is unlikely. Though we've seen many a photo of a rainy wedding that looked beautiful and romantic. If you have concerns, bringing an umbrella is probably a good idea (to protect you from either the sun or the rain). We will also have canopy's and market umbrellas around to provide cover from the elements (whatever they may be!). To check current weather conditions, check here.

I can't find anything vintage to wear, or it isn't really my style, what should I do?

Don't worry! Vintage is only suggested (not required, by any means) and whatever you choose to wear will be just fine with us. Keep in mind too that many modern designs use vintage clothing as inspiration or include historical reference. Above all, we want you to be comfortable and happy in what you're wearing.

We especially want you to be comfortable because of the natural setting and the big open lawn in the park - which we plan to use for croquet and similar games.

Where are you going for the honeymoon?

We are excited to be going to the Big Island of Hawaii for a lovely two-week vacation (returning October 3). Thanks to Pete, Ren and VRBO, we've got some amazing accommodations. We really can't wait for the trip - hiking, volcano exploring, snorkeling and lounging sound awesome.

This wedding sounds like so much fun! I'd love to be more involved and help. What can I do?

That's great! We love all the help that's been offered so far, and really couldn't do this without it. We can always use more day-of set up people. If you have a truck that can help take things to the site, that'd be great. Just send us a note to see what else we might need help with.

What if I have more questions?

That's easy - ask us!
